Ten year of online journal RoSE – Research on Steiner Education

ALFTER/OSLO (NNA) – The online journal RoSE – Research on Steiner Education has celebrated its tenth anniversary. It was set up by Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter near Bonn and Rudolf Steiner University College in Oslo with the goal of promoting basic research in and empirical contributions on Waldorf education.
“A Waldorf education capable of academic discourse should meet the same academic standards as are common in education studies in general,” said Jost Schieren, professor of school education with a focus on Waldorf education at Alanus University.
“With the journal RoSE, the first academic journal has been founded in an anthroposophical context which works on this basis. This places Waldorf education in a broad academic public sphere which is very gratifying,” he added.
The current issue of the journal includes contributions on basic spiritual scientific research as well as empirical studies on Waldorf education, social science, therapy and medicine. All articles, some of which have been called up up to 15,000 times, pass through the blind peer review procedure in which independent peer reviewers decide about publication. Alongside articles in German and English, the journal also contains some contributions in Spanish.
